It's official, mark your calendars and come to Lincoln August 27 – September 5. The Nebraska State Fair will be going strong.

The attendance increased at the POAN booth last year, and officers from many agencies had the opportunity to speak with citizens from across the state. Some questions were answered, a lot of kids walked away with safety suckers, and most everyone that visited the POAN booth left with a note pad and pen. Many of those visiting the booth told us that they look forward to seeing the Law Enforcement booths and exhibits each year.

With the increased funding for the State Fair in the coming years it is more important than ever that the POAN booth, located in the Law Enforcement building, be ready for even bigger numbers of guest. The entire fair is promising to be new and improved; therefore we need to consider new activities for the POAN/ State Fair visitors. This can only be done with fresh input. I encourage anyone with something they want to see added to contact any board member with their suggestion.

This year the NEW POAN website will be online and will be promoted at the fair. This new addition for POAN will ensure better communication among members as well as visitors and others having questions about our organization.

I will be meeting with representatives from the law enforcement family in the coming months to put together this years fair. I want to bring your ideas up for consideration, but I cannot do that unless you let me know what ideas you have, so please contact me or any other board member.

Have a great spring and plan on coming out to this years Nebraska State Fair.
