I
started my Law Enforcement career with the York Police Department
in August of 1975 as a Police Cadet. During my three years
of training as a Police Cadet I attended several Criminal Justice
Classes at the University of Nebraska, Kearney. Served in the
position of Police Cadet until September of 1978 when I was promoted
to Police Officer. I attended the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center
in the 46th Basic and graduated in January 1979.
At the 1988 POAN
Annual Convention I received the POAN Police
Officer of the year award. In February 1996 I was promoted to the
rank of Police Sergeant and still serve in that position. I was elected
to the POAN Board of Directors during the 2004 POAN/NSA Annual Convention. I
am married to my wife, Carolyn, and we have three children.
