James Peschong

Past President Jim Peschong has been a member of the POAN for the past 32+ years and a member of the board of directors since 1998. He currently is assistant chief with the Lincoln Police Department and oversees the Operations and Support Divisions of the department.

Jim has been a member of the Police Department for the past 32+ years, serving in a variety of capacities during his career. A few of those positions included: beat officer, motorcycle officer, cruiser officer, detective, criminal lieutenant and team captain.

Jim is very active both inside and outside of the Lincoln Police Department. He served more than ten years as a member of the Norris School Board, has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Norris Educational Foundation, Footprinters Board of Directors, Leadership Lincoln VII, Day Watch Board of Directors, Lincoln Council of Alcoholism and Drugs Board of Directors, AFIS Advisory Board, Project Safe Neighborhoods State Board and the Attention Center for Youth Board of Directors. He serves on a variety of other community committees as well. Jim has also served on two Department of Justice task forces on technology. He is a FBINA (#196) and LEEDS graduate. He is also an active member of International Association of Chiefs of Police and Police Chiefs Association of Nebraska.
