NEBRASKA LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CENTER
GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA
JANUARY 22, 2010
MEMBERS PRESENT: Jim Peschong, Bruce Felty, Ike Brown, Don Dreyer, Kim Christensen, Jeff Elliott, Andrea Towler, Ed Burmood, Doug Provance and Bill Larsen.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Andy Backman.
INVITED GUESTS: Chief Larry Thoren, Hastings PD.
First Vice-President Elliott called the meeting to order at 1200 hours.
MINUTES: Minutes from the October 4 and 7, 2009 meetings were presented. Jeff Elliott made a motion to approve the minutes. Doug Provance provided a second. Motion was approved by voice vote.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Treasurer's report was presented. Kurt Bottorff made a motion to accept the report. Ike Brown provided a second. Motion was approved by voice vote.

Legislative: Discussed Legislative issues ~ See website for POAN's stance.
Essay Contest: Andrea Towler reported the information has been sent out.
State Fair: Kim Christensen reported nothing new was available.
Membership: Kim Christensen discussed one year free membership for Academy graduates.
By-Laws: Kurt Bottorff made a motion to elect the Secretary/Treasurer for a two year term instead of annually. Jeff Elliott provided a second. After discussion the motion was approved by voice vote. Discussion also occurred regarding creating a position of Historian.
Website: Jim Peschong reported about ongoing enhancements for our website.
1. New brochures: Bruce Felty passed around samples of what he has been working on. One was selected which resulted in a motion by Kurt Bottorff to order 2000 copies. Jeff Elliott provided a second. Motion was approved by voice vote.
Discussion occurred regarding purchasing items from the National Law Officers Memorial Fund to be given as door prizes during the Annual Conference.
Fall Conference: President Peschong reported things are progressing well. He is trying to schedule a couple of different tracts of training.
Discussion occurred regarding looking at providing training courses around the State.
President Peschong asked for any other new business, or anything else for the good of the order. Nothing was presented.
Kim Christensen made a motion to adjourn. Ike Brown provided a second. Motion was approved by voice vote.
Meeting was adjourned at 1530.
