Andrew Backman
My law enforcement career started in Ponca, NE as Chief of Police in
1979. I went to work in South Sioux City as a street officer in 1982. In
1990 I transferred into the investigations unit, which is my current
assignment.
I have held the position of treasurer for the SSC Police Officers
Association since 1985. At the 2004 POAN/NSA convention I was elected to
the board of directors. My wife Mary and I have been married for 14
years. Mary has four grown children, I have two children from a previous
marriage. Interests Mary and I share are boating, camping and motorcycle
riding.
